LJS Horses is the perfect farm for your foaling and raising needs! Situated on 20+ acres of rolling pasture, complete with spring fed streams, 2 barns, 18 stalls, 2 double sized foaling stalls with real time surveillance and private newborn paddocks, round pen, and riding ring, we make sure your foal has the right start before hitting the ground and beyond!
Breeding Services
With extensive experience in breeding, we can help guide you in finding the correct match for your mare, aide in arrangements in insemination with fresh or frozen as well as organizing all procedures for pregnancy maintenance included but not limited to cultures, biopsies, caslicks, ultrasounds, treatments and lavages. We do everything in our power to insure that your mare gets in foal and remains in foal!
Custom Breeding: Also offered is the ability to arrange for a custom breeding using one of our proven broodmares! With our extensive knowledge of bloodlines for sport, as well as our mares' produce records to date, we can help guide you in the production of your future Dressage, Hunter/Jumper, or Event prospect. We can also aide in your choice of stallion/mare combination with the goal of achieving the perfect foal for your discipline of choice with high regard to temperament and future rideability. Foaling Services
Your mare is monitored from the second she arrives on the farm! We provide high-quality specialty feeds for all of our broodmares and youngstock, as we believe nutrition is a vital component for performance and growth.
At LJS, we take all of the worry out of the foaling process for our clients. We will schedule on your behalf all the needs your mare/foal may require: i.e. veterinary, farrier, IgG Tests, etc.
Your mare will foal out in a matted 12'x24' foaling stall, bedded by layering autoclaved, absorbent wood pellets with deep, clean straw on top. She is under constant monitoring via 2 cameras per foaling stall. Attendant always present to aide as needed in foaling process. Once your foal is on the ground and healthy, he or she will be provided with private individual turnout in our Newborn Paddock. Your mare and foal will be socialized into our herd and your foal handled regularly up until their departure from the farm. We also offer inspection prep, handling, and transportation.
Raising Services
We believe that young horses should be taught manners early in life, but ultimately, should be allowed to explore their world as young horses!
Our Raising Services included full board, trims, wormer, and in-hand training for weanlings up until their under-saddle training begins! All youngsters are exposed to the basics of on-the-ground training including but not limited to: trailering, clipping, bathing, cross-tie, farrier work, halter and bridle in-hand for walk and trot, and free jumping (3 yrs).
We pride ourselves on producing young horses with impeccable manners and the perfect foundation for their under-saddle training!
Additonal Services
Inspection and Show prep, handling, and transportation! We attend KWPN (Iron Spring Farm location), AHS, ISR/Old NA, BWP (Hilltop Farm Inc location). Other show and inspection locations may be accommodated at your request We offer bathing, clipping, braiding, and handling of the foals to present each at its best!
