Nor’Easter LJS is a beautiful black KWPN 2018 filly by Special D and out of our gorgeous mare Telula by De Laurentis. This is a filly with top bloodlines for dressage and or jumping. She possesses a powerful engine and dense bone with ample length of cannon to allow for beautiful gaits without giving up strength and power so necessary for longevity in sport. Her strong topline and beautiful shoulder and hip angles coupled with a nicely shaped and perfect length of neck just add to the gorgeous conformation she has, but her most beautiful assets are her sculpted head and “want to please” personality. Special D, 17h black KWPN stallion, represents the proven combination of Olympic Ferro crossed with G Ramiro Z, which produced his sire Métall. Special D is supported on the dam's side by solid, proven bloodlines with quality movements, such as Zandigo, Farn, Doruto and Uron. Grand dam Aafke (keur preferent), produced in combination with Ferro the Grand Prix stallion Joeris, who is approved in France, a Light Tour horse in the USA and the UTV mare Gloriosa, a full sister of Haafke. Special D's dam produced a stallion for the third inspection in the preceding year of his inspection. Special D is an honest, reliable stallion. He is very willing to work with a good attitude. The walk is spacious, rectangular and active, with a good usage of his body. Special D's trot is very tactful and spacious, with super self-carriage, a lot of elevation and a good collection. His canter is extremely spacious and scopey with excellent self-carriage. He is very talented as a dressage horse and gives his rider a very good feeling.
Approved for: KWPN
Stallion Performance Test walk: 8.5, trot: 8.5, canter: 8.5, dressage talent: 8.5
The offspring of Special D perform remarkably well in Dressage and Hunter/Jumpers. Several offspring participated in the finals of the Pavo Cup as well as young horse finals in both the US and Europe. Special-D has several KWPN well-proven sons including Zanzibar and Andretti (winner of the stallion competition 2009/2010). He currently has several approved sons, who are ranked world-wide and have placed well in stallion approvals, Pavo Cup, and young horse competitions to Grand Prix.
Special D is very suitable for breeding of a modern dressage horse with power, charm and character. He is currently competing with great success at Intermediare I and ready to show Grand Prix.
Nor’Easter LJS’s damline is equally impressive with many dressage, eventers, hunters and jumpers throughout the dam’s pedigree. Nora’s dam, Telula has a sire known for producing dressage stars as well as hunters both on the line and under saddle. Telula’s dam adds Thoroughbred blood known for sport as well as Trakehner bloodlines known for producing both for dressage and jumpers.
Nor’Easter LJS’s dam Telula is a 2005 Oldenburg Mare by Delaurentis out of a Tantris mare! Telula is a gorgeous mare who competed successfully in dressage and also loved to jump before becoming a broodmare. Her sire, De Laurentis scored impressively high 9's at his stallion testing for character, temperament, willingness, constitution, and walk. His trot and canter scores were high 8's. A fabulous sire, his foals were most notable for having excellent articulation of the hind leg and correctness of gaits. De Laurentis is by De Niro, the 2008 Hanoverian Stallion of the Year as well as the top 2012 Dressage sire for having the most successful Grand Prix level offspring. De Niro is by Donnerhall, one of the greatest foundation Dressage Stallions of our generation.
Telula's dam Tela boasts impressive bloodlines as well. Sired by the Grand Prix Dressage stallion, Tantris, Tela is currently showing 3rd Level herself. Tantris lends his athleticism, versatility, and uphill topline to the mix as well as his physical "stamp". Telula exudes many of her dam-sire's characteristics. Licensed German Oldenburg stallion Tantris by Traumdeuter out of Rubina-Aktuella by Aktuell-Volturno. Tantris was bred in Germany by Harli Seifert, he stems from the immensely successful German Oldenburg Rudilore dam-line. Tantris was licensed as a two year old stallion at Vechta for German Oldenburg breeding and successfully completed his 100 Day testing at Medingen at three years of age. He sired many successful offspring while balancing a career as a successful Grand Prix dressage horse.
Telula has three very correct gaits, with the most amazing big swinging walk. She is a pleasure to work with, she is extremely friendly and has a strong desire to please. She competed successfully in dressage but also had a fabulous jump and was super fun to ride prior to becoming a coveted broodmare.
